The 'Out of Bounds' initiative seeks funding to continue its transformative work within the Khlong Toey community.

Having successfully organized soccer summer camps, we've recognized a pressing need in the community for recreational spaces.
​
We are innovatively repurposing an underutilized area beneath an expressway in Khlong Toey into a multipurpose soccer pitch. We now humbly seek your support to further develop and maintain this recreational hub for the community's youth.
CONTEXT AND BACK GROUND
Klong Toey - A Community in Need: Klong Toey is Thailand's most densely populated slum. (houses 100,000 people in one square mile)

Out of Bounds & Klong Toey: In the past, Out of Bounds has successfully engaged with the Klong Toey community, organizing Soccer Summer Camps and bringing joy to its young residents.

Identification of Issues: Our engagement made it evident that there's a severe shortage of recreational spaces for the children, further aggravated by the densely populated nature of Klong Toey.
THE INNOVATIVE SOLUTION
Utilizing Underutilized Spaces: we transformed a previously ignored space under an expressway, filled with waste and debris, into a functional and inspiring recreational area.

Asymmetrical Soccer Pitch: Understanding the unique space constraints, the pitch was innovatively designed to be asymmetrical, catering to the land's specific shape.

Quad-Goal Game Concept: The centerpiece of our pitch features a large circle split into four triangles, allowing for a new soccer variant named the 'quad-goal' game. This format enables four teams to engage simultaneously, promoting teamwork, and strategy, and maximizing participation.

Multipurpose Field: The design supports traditional futsal and our Quadgoal Football game. Equipped with protective fencing and lighting systems, the field ensures safe play day and night.
Community Benefits
Health: Encouraging physical activity, promoting overall wellness and health for Klong Toey's youth. Crime Deterrence: Offering a positive outlet for the community's youth, thereby reducing tendencies
towards crime or drug-related activities.
CURRENT PROJECT
Designed an asymmetric soccer pitch under an expressway in the Klong Toey area. Worked with Bangkok Community Help Foundation and Expressway authorities to acquire the land. Helped to solve Klong Toey’s issue of densely populated area. The pitch fits into the exact shape of the area. Received 6000 dollars worth of funding from Bangkok Metropolitan Authority (City Government) and CSR initiatives. Understanding the unique space constraints, the pitch was innovatively designed to be asymmetrical, catering to the land’s specific shape. Quad-Goal Game concept – The centerpiece of our pitch features a large circle split into four triangles, allowing for a new soccer variant named the ‘quad-goal’ game. This format allows four teams to engage, simultaneously, promoting teamwork, and strategy, and maximizing participation. The design supports both traditional futsal and our Quad goal football game. Equipped with protective fencing and lighting systems, the field ensures safe play both day and night. This idea has been approved by the local authorities. The 3D design is seen below and will begin construction soon.

Thanks to the joint efforts of the Khlong Toey authorities, the Expressway Authority of Thailand, and the Bangkok Community Help Foundation, we've successfully acquired the necessary land for this project.
